“She looks like ME!”

This student was beside herself with the holiday gift she got to choose on Thursday night. She excitedly proclaimed to the SDRT staff, “She looks just like me!” She couldn’t stop smiling.

THANK YOU for purchasing all of our elementary holiday gifts in less than 30 hours! We had the best assortment for kids to choose from. Every single child picked just what they wanted, from art kits to Lego sets to Barbies to soccer balls. (We also get to deliver a few next week!) It was a joyous night. We even had productive, engaging tutoring sessions in the midst of the holiday hoopla!

In addition, our families got gifts and gift cards from Hope for San Diego, our teens got gift cards from Kensington Community Church and all kids and tutors decorated cookies, selected winter break books to take home and enjoyed cups of piping hot cocoa and halal marshmallows. It was an action-packed week at SDRT!

Thanks to all the many elves from across the city who made these special moments happen.

From the photo booth to pinecone turkeys, bead necklaces and headbands, along with the most popular kinetic sand station, there was no shortage of entertainment for kids or adults!
