Carrots, Masks, Hand Sanitizer, Oh My!

The needs are being met and we couldn’t be more thankful!

From rallying friends and neighbors to buy items from our Amazon WishList to sewing masks for our families to visiting distilleries and bottling hand sanitizer, you have come through in the most generous of ways. We have never, ever seen so many packages in our lives- and they just keep arriving. We almost have enough headphones for every kid- and we definitely have enough books to last us through the summer!

Our elementary students begin their distance learning next week. Middle and high school students already started. Getting students information about where and when to get their computers and how to access the Internet, delivering headphones and helping kids set up Zoom are just a few of our tasks. TEAM SDRT has been hard at work this week!

SDRT was fortunate to receive a large donation from Sprouts thanks to the generosity of the Cohn family. TEAM SDRT delivered chickens, apples, oranges, greens, grapes, and more to 17 families yesterday. When we arrived at one family’s door, the children dove into the groceries and began crunching on apples before we could even say hello!

We got a supply of masks made by one tutor at the beginning of this week and they were gone by Wednesday! If you or anyone you know can make us more masks, please let us know. Our families appreciate these.

Thank you for your kindness. We absolutely cannot do this work without your support. It is a team effort and we appreciate you (and your neighbors, family members and friends) being a part of our team!

You can still help fulfill our Amazon Wish List here!

Ramadan started a couple of days ago! Thanks for the culturally relevant books!

Or, You can donate on our website!
