What’s New at SDRT?

Space educator, Mat Kaplan from The Planetary Society, the organization led by Bill Nye, stopped by SDRT with two of his high-powered telescopes. The idea came when one tutor noticed his student light up while reading a space-themed book. We were blown away by the views of the moon. Thank you, Mat!

We are thoroughly grateful for our partnership with Dr. Meredith Waltonat San Diego Vision Collective who provides free vision screenings at SDRT events and then provides exams and glasses to our kids free of charge.

We have a program called Freckle that provides our students with focus skills to work on at tutoring and at home that are exactly at their level in both reading and math. These are derived from the assessments we administer.

The students who spent the most minutes working in Freckle over Winter Break won Target gift cards!  All kids who put in at least 100 minutes were rewarded as well. They were so excited. We will do a Freckle Challenge over spring break too!
