We’re Not Scared of Preschoolers!

Last year was the first year that we enrolled such a large amount of preschool students in SDRT. If you have a toddler at home or remember parenting this age, you know that 5pm is not the always the most delightful hour with this age group. Some may even call it the “witching hour.”

Despite the time (and many other odds), we are delighted to share that all of our former preschool students tested “Kindergarten ready” this week on our assessments! There is so much research about how important it is to start kindergarten ready to learn. “Lower levels of kindergarten readiness are are associated with poorer academic outcomes from elementary to high school.” Our kids are starting their educational journeys without a need to constantly catch up! This is huge.

We always valued those volunteers with enough patience to sit with our littlest learners. We value each of you even more now!
